In July 2000, MaPS, Inc. picked up the GPS road network
mapping that had been started by GeoResearch Inc. of
Billings
,
MT.
By April
2005, MaPS, Inc. completed
Powell
County
’s E-911 & GPS/GIS System.
MaPS, Inc. conducted a 100% GPS field
verification/data collection effort, completing the
County’s entire road network (nearly 1,200 miles of
roads) and mapping nearly 3,700 structures, including
taking digital photographs of each structure and linking
them to their map location.
The County went “live” with E-911
using XTEND Communications Corp.’s phone system and
Bulberry System Inc.’s R3Dispatch software
based on MaPS, Inc.’s GIS data.
Their ALI is provided by Qwest/Intrado.
MaPS, Inc. is handling the assignment of physical
addresses via our toll-free addressing hotline, including
mapping maintenance of new construction on a quarterly
basis and maintenance of the County's MSAG via Intrado's
web-based 9-1-1-Net Interface.
We have conducted three annual audits of the GIS and
9-1-1 database using Intrado's 9-1-1 database records.
MaPS,
Inc. created large-scale wall maps and detailed emergency
services atlases for the County and is also providing
ongoing consulting/tech support and specialty map products
as requested/needed.
For instance, MaPS, Inc. created detailed
wall maps showing commissioner districts, school
districts, voter precincts, Senate and House districts,
sanitation districts, etc. and detailed addressing/mailing
lists based on said districts.
MaPS, Inc. also prepared a detailed Sign Survey –
atlases and a database – outlining what signs were
needed (public and private roads) at over 800
intersections. MaPS,
Inc. even assisted the Sheriff’s Office to map the MT
State Prison’s infrastructure, including all the prison
property’s access roads and structures, to assist
mitigation planning.
