MaPS, Inc.
completed
Pondera
County
’s E-911 & GPS/GIS System in April 2004.
Starting in June 2000, MaPS, Inc. conducted a 100%
GPS field verification/data collection effort, mapping the
County’s entire road network (nearly 1,700 miles of
roads), road features (e.g. bridges, cattle guards, mile
markers, etc.) and nearly 3,300 structures in 2
incorporated and 3 unincorporated communities, including a
portion of the Blackfoot Indian Reservation in the Valier
and Dupuyer telephone exchange areas (9-1-1 calls from
this area, including those from tribal members, ring to
Conrad vs. Browning).
The County went “live” with E-911 using LogiSYS’
FirstCall CAD system based on MaPS, Inc.’s GIS data. Their
initial E-911 Database Provider was Qwest/Intrado, but
the County recently switched to CenturyTel for their
9-1-1 database.
The County DES Coordinator’s office is
responsible for the addressing of new
structures and MaPS, Inc. is providing ongoing GPS/GIS
maintenance mapping of new structures and roads and maintenance of the E-911
System. MaPS,
Inc. is also providing ongoing consulting/tech support and
training as requested/needed. Map products, including
large-scale color wall maps and black/white atlases, are
currently being upgraded/updated.
