In April 2001, MaPS, Inc. resurrected Granite County ’s E-911 & GPS/GIS project that was started by Miller Mgmt./Benchmark GIS of Missoula, MT.  The County’s infrastructure has been collected with GPS (roads and structure locations) and digital photographs taken of each addressable structure.  MaPS, Inc. recently completed the Postal Coordination and Address Notification tasks and is engaged in Telephone Company Coordination tasks with Blackfoot Telephone Cooperative and Qwest, as well as CenturyTel, the County's E-911 Database Provider. A draft County atlas has been produced and MaPS, Inc. is handling the assignment of physical addresses via our toll-free addressing hotline, including mapping maintenance of new construction and GIS integration.

The County’s E-911 System was turned “live” in late August 2007 using Bulberry System Inc.’s Insight (ArcGIS 9.2 platform) software based on MaPS, Inc.’s GIS data.  MaPS, Inc. is providing ongoing E-911 System maintenance services via CenturyTel’s web-based on-line portals.  Updated atlases and wall maps with integrated USFS road network data are also underway.
