MaPS, Inc. completed Butte County’s E-911 & GPS/GIS project
that was started by GeoResearch, Inc. of Billings, MT.
MaPS, Inc. conducted a 100% GPS field verification
review of the previous data, matched residents and
mailing addresses to the structures mapped, established
private lanes wherever necessary, conducted the Postal
coordination tasks, prepared the change-of-address
notification letters, created the Master Street Address
Guide (MSAG) and Emergency Service Zone (ESZ) databases
and performed the telephone company coordination (e.g.
updating existing phone records with new addresses and
testing said records against the MSAG to reach 95% or
better accuracy). The County’s Enhanced 9-1-1 System is
“live” using Bulberry System Inc.’s R3Dispatch
software based on MaPS, Inc.’s GIS data. Their ALI data
is provided via Qwest/Intrado’s 9-1-1 telephone
network. The County has been maintaining their mapping
and addressing now for the last several years (e.g.
updating the GIS with phone record and other changes).
MaPS, Inc. is providing ongoing consulting/training, GPS
field data collection and GIS mapping services on an as
needed/requested basis.
